Pilot Metropolitan (F) Review

The Pilot Metropolitan is is my favorite of my few fountain pens so far. The cheap price does not speak to the quality of this pen. It wrote perfectly the first time I put in the cartridge and I can't wait to use it more.

Design:

Built to last and feels great in the hand. The Metropolitan is heavy which I enjoy. The clip is great and I don't have to worry about it breaking. The cap is a snap off type so I wouldn't carry it in my pocket out of paranoia of the cap coming lose even though it is pretty sturdy. I got the gold model because I am a sucker for gold. The only thing I do not like about the design of the pen is that the texture changes for some reason right before the cap as you can see in the picture above. All in all, I think it is beautiful.

Performance:

Getting a Japanese fine scared me but I had nothing to worry about. The nib on this pen is smooth as could be while still having a very fine line as expected. So far I have only used the included cartridge that is sold with the pen but the ink flow has been perfect.

Conclusion:

Love everything about it, now I want a gold nib Pilot. I will keep dreaming I guess.
Buy the Metropolitan on Amazon
